Welcome to my website, my name is Veronique, I’m passionate about health and wellness, I love travelling, tennis, yoga, meditation, hiking, reading and of course blogging about my healthy habits. 🙂 I’m not a doctor or anything, I’m just someone who used to be very sick, and who was able to heal herself through healthy diet, stress management, exercise and detoxification.
Since I could remember from a very young age, I always have been passionate about health and healthy foods. I remember spending my childhood picking up fresh strawberries and blueberries from the wood and always wanting to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Well you know how life sometimes tends to change its course. When we grow up, go to school or start working, sometimes it becomes harder to keep our healthy habits of eating well when we are always busy and in a rush. We start buying processed food that we can make quickly, we drink a lot of milk and eat a lot of cheese; we tend to not exercise as much as when we were younger. I know that because I’ve been there and it’s very hard to see our health falling apart. I wasn’t overweight because I always had been skinny but I wasn’t healthy inside and it was showing on the outside. I was always in pain and I had cystic acne. I knew something was wrong with my daily habits and I knew that it needed to change if I wanted to continue to live healthy.
At the age of 25 I started to get very sick, I remember always been tired, all the simple daily tasks like brushing my hair seemed like a struggle for me. I used to be very active in my community, going to Zumba classes, playing tennis but I couldn’t do that anymore because I didn’t had the energy. I was irritable with mood swings, and I wasn’t really happy with my life. I was in pain all the time, and my health really started to fall apart. I remember always been at the hospital every week for blood tests and they couldn’t find what I had. I remember how I felt when I was told that it was only in my head and it was only caused by stress. Inside I knew that I was sick and that I needed to improve my health. I used to have big dreams with my career but unfortunately, because of my health, I had to quit college because I was too sick and was unable to focus. I also had to stop working because I didn’t had the energy to go to work. All my dreams were falling apart, and I didn’t know what to do to gain back my health and happiness.
At the age of 28 I was diagnosed with a case of fibromyalgia. I remember the day the doctor told me that I had fibromyalgia, there was no cure and the only thing he could do for me was to prescribe some medications. I took those medications for about 3 weeks and after those 3 weeks I decided to take a different route, I refused to accept the fact that I was going to be sick for the rest of my life. Stuck at home because I couldn’t go to work, I needed to find a solution. Then I spent about 3 years researching about the power of fruits and vegetables, I started to learn more about the lymphatic system, and about detoxification which truly helped me changed my life.
Let me tell you that healing takes time and dedication but the good news is that it is possible. If you ate processed food for 20 years it’s going to take time to put back your body in balance and get healthy again but it is possible. The truth is that we don’t realize that every little habits we do every day can either have a positive or a negative consequence over our health, and if we decide to change bad daily habits for good ones our health will start to improve.
The important thing to realize, is that all the small good habits we decide to choose may seem like nothing for now, but overtime they become the big habits and they start to really improve our health, as long as were consistent and we continue to do them.
Now at 33 years old I’m happy to say that I no longer suffer anymore like I used to and my health has improved a lot and is still improving every day. My journey toward health wasn’t an easy one, but I now believe there is a cure for everything in life. There is no miracle cure in a couple days, but I think that all the daily habits we do every day, what we eat, what we put on our skin, how we get rid of toxins, if we exercise, how we deal with stress, all the small daily decisions we take for granted, those decisions can truly make an impact on our health.
I decided to share my story of how I healed myself and changed my life, only by changing my daily habits. Remember that it is still possible to live natural in a processed world; you just have to change those daily habits and make healthier choices. On this website I will share some of my favourite healthy habits, some healthy recipes, my favourite superfoods and a lot more.
